McGlothen 1 Cameron McGlothen Psychology Ms. Lewis (9:30am) 10 November, 2013 10 Times the Giving Thanksgiving is a day that families get together to enjoy a delirious meal, but for some people thanksgiving is just another day without eating. There are many less fortunate people in this country, yet alone in this world that wish they could sit down on the twenty-eight of November and enjoy a hot meal. Giving back to people that don’t have what you have, and seeing them smile when that plate is given to them is a feeling of accomplishment. You feel accomplished to make that persons day better, which maybe inspired somebody else to give back too, or maybe even an accomplishment for yourself. Thanksgiving is a day of thanks, and if giving ten cans to the less fortunate so that they can enjoy a meal just as I am enjoying one; I am thankful I can help. As a child I remember waking up to the smell of my mother cooking roast, and the sound of my father watching the pre-game show. My whole family would soon gather around the table to eat, and would soon see the glimmer in everyone’s eye as we began to eat after praying to God for this meal that we all are would share. This is a holiday of remembrance. The day to remember the good deeds done by others, the deeds done by God, and even the deeds done by yourself. Receiving a thank you makes me feel as if I have done well by someone.
