(5) Problem 2.68 (6) A proton has a kinetic energy which is twice its rest energy (a) Calculate the speed of the proton (b) Calculate the momentum of the proton (in units of eV/c) (7) Problem 2.74. To find the numerical answer to this problem (v/c = 0.116) you have to do a bit of algebra at the end. Even if you don’t complete the calculations, the numerical value of the answer is good to remember for future estimates. (8) Problem 2.80 (9) An unstable particle has a mass M = 3.34 x 10-27 kg and is at rest. It decays into two fragments with velocities v1 = 0.987c and v2 = -0.868c respectively.
