Comp 911/790-063, Fall 2008 5 Minute Presentation of a Research Interest Date Assigned: Thu Aug 21, 2008 Talk Date: Tue Aug 26, 2008 Paper Date: Thu Aug 28, 2008 Objectives:  If you have not given a talk before, understand some of the issues involved, and if you have given one before, recall the issues so that they are fresh in your mind.  Show us your natural way of presenting, “uncorrupted” by what you learn in class.  Inform fellow students of a research interest. 1. Give a 5-minute presentation identifying an area in computer science that interests you from a research point of view, and explaining the reasons for this interest. Your interest may have been sparked as a result of actual research, a course project, or listening to a research talk. Copy your talk to: \\dewan-cs\deposit\911\research- interests. 2. Write a paper on your talk. The paper due date is a couple of days after the talk date to give you time to change the flow based on how the talk went.
