Feel free to consult the course web site for a variety of on-line news sources: http://users.ipfw.edu/virtue/intl/international_links.htm ● Please hand in these completed questions on the day of your presentation. Answer the questions as thoroughly as possible. You may write your answers on this page or type them separately, but you must address all of the following questions. 1. What is your topic and why did you choose it? (You may pick a single event as your topic or an ongoing issue.) 2. What source(s) did you use to learn about this topic? You must cite at least one reliable news source. The course web site has links to many news sources: http://users.ipfw.edu/virtue/intl/international_links.htm 3. Please summarize the main points of your source(s). Assume some ignorance on the part of your audience and explain your topic clearly. Among the questions you will need to address: what country or countries are involved? Who are the principle actors? Who is most affected by this event or issue? Why? If you are discussing an event, what happened? What are the possible ramifications or results of this event or issue? 4. What point of view does your source espouse? Does the source attempt to be objective? Does it succeed? Or rather, does the source take a clear stand? 5. Finally, explain briefly the international significance of this event or issue. Why should we, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, care about your topic?
