The criminals are sometimes under the influence of drugs, making them not care about the security measures. Offenders will routinely walk across specific neighborhoods identifying homes or buildings that appear as easy target for robbery at late night hours. The rational choice theory sates that offenders use logical calculations to make choices to enhance them to achieve outcomes based on their interests. The theory explains that offenders compare the benefits with the consequences of committing a crime and then make rational choices. Criminals will make decisions to acquire the best benefit and satisfaction despite the limited options available. An offender might be financially unfit depending on his or her region’s economy; thus, the offender would be forced to engage in robbery activities to fix the financial problems. If most people are considered financially unfit in a single community, there will be high chances of increasing robbery crimes in that community.
