Liceo de Cagayan University Senior High School Department Page xii ABSTRACT The project research is called Penote, and it is a ballpen with a paper reel attached. This item is a traditional way of taking notes that needs the use of a pen and paper and is reasonably priced. Most of us find it inconvenient to carry a pen and paper since they are heavy in the bag, and we occasionally forget to bring a pen or paper and don't know when or where we will need it. The Penote can be used as a convenient space saver in backpacks, pockets, and so on. And it will make it easier to carry two things at once. Penote will be located in the Elipe City building in front of the Institute of Computer Studies and IT building and just near Liceo de Cagayan University-Main Campus and the target market is the Liceo community. We may market our goods to those who are interested because it is used by individuals. Overall, the researcher concludes that it is a useful product and traditional means of taking notes at a low cost. Furthermore, this serves as a forum for businesses to advocate for and endorse local products, and to motivate others to purchase local products. The researchers concluded that the two accomplice items would become one. It would be a major help and would decrease the weight that the two could cause. Everyone has experienced that kind of scenario where hurrying happens and the need for a ballpen and some paper occurs. The reason why the researchers conducted the penote, a ballpen with a paper reel attached, is so that in case a scenario happens like what was mentioned earlier, there will be no problem because the product penote will solve the problem. Technology evolves and people adapt to it because their existences are most likely dependent on it. Taking notes by hand seems old-fashioned to most students, and even to anyone nowadays (Karjo, 2017). Even in the smallest manner, particularly as taking notes, individuals utilize technology as their material, which has the potential to be not enough and unreliable at times due to the reliance on batteries as a source of power to function. Even a power bank that's used for support gets battery low. Penote, on the other hand, is a conventional method of taking notes that requires the use of a pen and paper. Penote may be utilized without worrying about a low battery because it does not rely on any external power Liceo de Cagayan University Senior High School Department Page 2 source. When a smartphone's battery runs out, individuals can nevertheless take notes with a pen and paper. University students find it easier to retain information when using books and handwriting notes rather than computers, according to a survey of European and Asian students (Bothwell, 2017). Note-taking allows people to outsource their memories to an external source (paper), as well as make content explicit for future reference (Friedman, n.d.). The process of taking notes during class may or may not be beneficial to the student, but the notes themselves and being able to review them before an exam have been shown to be highly valuable (Jarry, 2019). Students using devices to take notes are often bombarded with updates, messages, and notifications, plus they’re distracted by the ever-present temptation to search the web. Authentic learning, however, requires concentration and deep, uninterrupted immersion in a topic (Barbour, 2021). Sticky notes are cost-effective and easy to use. Their design makes them great for highlighting important information as it contrasts against standard documents and books (Muslihat, n.d) Improves focus and attention to detail. Developing note-taking skills engages a student, requiring them to focus and increase their attention to detail, and as we all know, the devil is in the detail (Aleman, 2014). Students perform better on tests when their notes were taken by hand rather than on a computer. It bears repeating that a single study is almost never enough (Jonathan, 2019). It’s better for your grades to take notes with a pen rather than a device. The process students go through when taking notes on paper is the key to the findings. By writing out notes, students are not only listening, they are breaking down the information Liceo de Cagayan University Senior High School Department Page 5 To the manufacturer- In doing the study, it can help manufacturers produce more products to increase their business' sales since the researchers aren't only supposed to sell the products made but also to assist the manufacturers to level up and spread support about their production. Also, to assure loyalty to continue on making it as an official manufacturer to the business. To the school supply stores- The proposed study will help school supply stores in maximizing their business sales. Also, it can boost their profits by letting the researchers promote their stores. Scope and Delimitations of the Study Many people struggle or find it tedious to carry a pen and paper because it may be heavy and cumbersome in their bag. It doesn't really require using a pen and paper every day, but there are circumstances that no one expects to happen where the pen and paper are needed. So the main purpose of conducting this study is to solve the issues that the two individual products have, and the figures show that if the two accomplices could become one, it would have a major impact on the consumer. Along with the study of penote, part of the aim of the team is to know what benefits this product could bring to a user, if having a penote could lessen the struggle that the user experiences with the individual product, or if it doesn't change when the two products become one at all. The satisfaction and the comfort of the possible consumer are included in the study. Penote will surely be beneficial for students, teachers, Liceo de Cagayan University Senior High School Department Page 6 parents, etc. so that in case a situation happens like the one mentioned above, it will be solved by the product Penote. People in their daily lives that carry things like Penote will lessen the struggle of carrying two things at a time, because Penote made it easier. Also, there will be no conflict because this product is handy. The product will be disseminated through direct selling and will accept orders in Elipe City building in front of the Institute of Computer Studies and Information Technology building and just a few steps from Liceo de Cagayan University. According to the researchers, the Penote assures its viability since it is common equipment used by Liceo de Cagayan University's students, staff, teachers, and others in their daily activities. Another factor supporting their assertion that Penote is viable it’s because Penote is easily accessible to its customers since it's just around the City. Justification of the Study It is important to develop the product Penote because it is beneficial to everyone. It will also give fresh value to customers. This product will make a significant contribution to education and other aspects of the community. The penote should be developed since it is convenient and easy to use. Most people struggle to bring a pen and paper, so Penote is a solution to this problem. Also, Penote is a handful to be used by everyone. Since the company has existing products, penote will help improve for sizable sources and probability for lackluster end result or outright failure are way better than all of us will admit. Could be a brand new production technique or a brand new actual country advertising concept, that could life of the enterprise, or maybe growth. Without penote, the organization withers at the vine Liceo de Cagayan University Senior High School Department Page 7 and both dies or is absorbed through any other organization. Services created and furnished through enterprises of all length offer the mechanism for this development and growth. A physical connection to your notes helps with information recall. You’ll be able to more easily remember the ideas you decided were important enough to write down while in that team meeting. Having more focus and critical thinking while note taking will help you retain information (Lewis, 2019). Pen and paper have been revolutionary inventions. From its invention until now, it is still being used in the daily lives of people. Pens and paper are literally everywhere. From kindergarten to college, From the first day of the job to retirement, pen and paper are present. Every day, people use pens and paper for a variety of tasks ranging from making grocery lists to making to-do lists. The team found out that most people forget to bring one of the two products, which are a pen and paper, or even forget both, so this study proposes integrating both pens and paper together, because in this generation, people value time and convenience. This product will ease the burden of having to bring multiple items at the same time and will hasten the writing time of a person. Liceo de Cagayan University Senior High School Department Page 10 4. To analyze the following aspects: a. Market Feasibility b. Technical Feasibility c. Financial Feasibility d. Socio-economic Feasibility e. Organization and Management Feasibility 5. To know the overall feasibility of the product Liceo de Cagayan University Senior High School Department Page 11 Chapter 3 METHODOLOGY This study aims to understand the feasibility of selling a customized ballpen to the market. It describes who are going to be the respondents and also the focus of the research. This chapter will help the researcher to grasp the various aspects in terms of setting, design, tools, procedure, and nature of the info to be gathered. With the sufficient data information gathered to support the study and evaluate expansively, the researchers can infer a reliable conclusion that may play a major role within the totality of the feasibility study. Research Setting This study will be conducted in a prestigious school which is the Liceo de Cagayan University- Main Campus, located at Rodolfo N. Pelaez Blvd, Cagayan de Oro, 9000 Misamis Oriental. Liceo de Cagayan University, known for the second largest University and a non- sectarian school that can be found in Cagayan de Oro City. The University has its mission and that is to prepare each student with core values which are discipline, service, loyalty, excellence, and integrity. Lastly, to be globally competitive. The researchers picked Liceo de Cagayan University as the target community of the business because of the accessibility of the place to the researcher's part. Also, for its potential market within the community. Liceo de Cagayan University Senior High School Department Page 12 Research Design To collect the data for this study, the researchers utilized a descriptive research methodology using a survey questionnaire. Because they are cost-effective and effective, these strategies are often employed in data collection, particularly by smaller firms. The descriptive research design presents qualitative information and includes a sufficient description of the data and will be used in analyzing and formulating conclusions about the market's perception of the study, whereas the survey questionnaire method becomes a statistical method for gathering and tallying quantitative data that is crucial in determining the financial feasibility of the proposed product. Researchers were able to evaluate public opinion on a proposed product that would be introduced to the market using these techniques. Respondents and Sampling Procedure This study will be conducted through surveys among students at the Liceo de Cagayan University Main Campus, with a total of 200 participants. Responders can be of any age, and minors can participate as respondents with parental or guardian authorization. The responders will be chosen at random for the researchers' convenience. Research Instruments The researcher developed a survey questionnaire and distributed it by using the Google forms, the researchers' preferred digital platform. The surveys covered respondents' age, daily allowance, purchasing capability, personal preferences, and the amount they are willing and Liceo de Cagayan University Senior High School Department Page 15 Statistical Technique The components (parts) of the product (Penote) are made from a variety of raw materials. The unavailability of raw materials such as the barrel, plastics (the upper part) Due to unavailability of raw materials, the researchers will be unable to create a product and will encounter obstacles such as interruption of production, increased production costs, increased rework, and so on. From raw materials to finished goods, failure in one has an impact on the other. To address this, prioritize unavailable materials by supplier, determine the root cause of unavailability, and work collaboratively with the supplier. Liceo de Cagayan University Senior High School Department Page 16 Chapter 4 RESULTS AND DISCUSSION OF THE FINDINGS Market Feasibility Introduction It is essential to know what is happening in the market. Knowing the trend inside the market will help the business to plan out ideas for its betterment. Since then, different strategies can be applied in the business knowing the fast-changing industry trends that are present in the market. Strategic planning is very important to achieve long-term success. Once the business is aware of the demand in the target market, it will help the business to be more centralized and more productive on the implementations of the marketing strategies. Market trends will always affect the business and its operations. Thus, this study will Identify the product penote whether it can sustain in the market or not as well as being capable of generating income or not. Product Description Name of the Product The product's name is Penote. It is a mash-up of the words pen and note. The researchers decided that instead of using the words Pen and Note, the researchers combined the two terms to get the term Penote. The name of the product was chosen by all of the Liceo de Cagayan University Senior High School Department Page 17 members. The original name for the product was "2 in 1 pen," but the research adviser advised to change it to a unique one. Therefore, the group brainstormed a lot of possible unique names; they even thought of the most hilarious names. After a long time of sharing ideas, someone mentioned the name "Penote", and they all thought about the same thing. They found it. After a lot of possible names that were proposed by the group, they finally agreed with "Penote" because of how simple it sounded and was easy to remember, which the team thought would benefit them in selling their products. Penote was established as a product name since it defines what the group is providing and the target market can readily understand the product. As the product name implies, it is a penote, which combines a pen and a note into a single item. As their salary or wage rises, so does their spending power and the business will benefit from this. In different circumstances Penote will experience loss on its sales if its target market diminishes as a result of the income or wage factor, and it will be unable to reach its sales targets. The business must make certain that the product is always affordable to the market. Unavailability of raw products In the process of doing business, raw resources for a product may become unavailable. The solution is to find another supplier ahead of time or to use a substitute material of equal quality while maintaining the product's appearance and quality. Size of the market The larger the market size, the higher the sales could become due to the huge population of consumers. As a result, it would be preferable if Penote were sold in a market with a higher potential for increased sales. Price and Availability of Related Goods The majority of respondents selected a price of 50-60 pesos each, according to the results of the survey questionnaire. The product will be available by piece for 60 pesos. All of the basic components of the product are available in school supply stores or online. Penote's related products, on the other hand, may have an impact on demand and supply of the business. Customers may prefer to buy from Penote's related products if the price of Penote's related products would depreciate. To avoid this, the business must be able to compete with its rivals and modify its price in response to market factors so that the business will remain in the market.
