Download A Law of Sines Cheat Sheet and more Cheat Sheet Mathematics in PDF only on Docsity! To use Law of Sines you must be given 3 parts ofA with one opposite side & angle These three combinations will work: AAS, ASA, or ASS* Given A-A-S? Use Law of Sines A? Find igle, then You can also find AREA of a A using sine Area =Sab sin(C) a and b are any two sides C is the angle between a and b (SAS) e sin B > 1.000 ? No triangle, side a is too short! (Fig 3) e sin B= 1.000 ? One right triangle, zB =90° (Fig 2) e sin B< 1.000 ? You now have triangle #1: 2A, 2B, add them to find zC 2. To find POSSIBLE 2nd triangle, subtract: 2B’ = 180°- -B ° This is a POSSIBLE triangle #2 using 2A & 2B‘ ; Now add them together © Is ZA + ZB‘ < 180° ? You now have triangle #2: 2A, 2B’, add them to find zC’ © |Is ZA+ 2B‘ 2 180°? Too many degrees, no 2nd triangle! (side a > side b) Cc c ¢ ne /N be b, Ae 2Y I\ a: eer ; TN < = A B B A B A B Fig. 1 Fig. 2 Fig. 3 2A:a>h and a<b Right A: a=h Zero A: a<h
