Rene Descartes Have you ever pondered our existence? wondering, "Do I really exist?" After staring in the mirror. Descartes' well-known maxim, "I think, therefore I am," may help us in making judgments about existence.     Rene Descartes' philosophy is the one that most substantially influenced my perceptions of the truth of my existence. We humans are aware of our existence because we doubt it, wonder where we originated from, where our soul really is, and why we are here. Our capacity for thought is what gave rise to the saying, "We doubt; therefore, we exist.". In our minds, we can do and conceive of anything. Our bodies have limitations, but our minds are limitless and can explore everything.     We accept who we are right now through thought because that is reality. Its goal is to help us make decisions and greater understanding of who we are, where we are, and what is going on around us. In connection with decision-making, our bodies reflect our thoughts since that is how we think. Thus, it can be said that we are alive and real. We have doubts about everything, and these serve as the foundation for our quest for knowledge. We exist because we doubt.
