THE IMPACT OF ACADEMIC PROCASTINATION AND DYSFUNCTIONAL LEARNING OUTCOMES:BASIS FOR IMPROVE PROGRAM IN RNHS GRADE- 11 GAS I. INTRODUCTION Learning in the midst of Pandemic in this Academic year has affected a lot of students experienced first hand by the researchers. Schoolimg modalities hits different because of the home and self based learning program that causes a lot of pressure academically experienced first , by the researchers at this point, and due to this, students procrastinates because of the thought of failing at the task at hand. Fear of failure, in the other hand encourages procrastination because undetermined student`s sense of control that makes them feel incapable of completing the job students afraid to fail at. In this research, the researchers are going to uncover the underlying truth behind this behavioral pattern that will be a matter of series of observations and will identify the root causes of Procrastination impact towards the students form of the Grade-11 Gas Moreover, the researchers want to know the impact of procrastination in academic performance of RNHS Grade 11-Gas students cause we know procrastination is hard but student usually do this because of its own reason others procrastinate because of laziness, having a busy schedule, having anxiety and many more good or not good reasons. But lets not normalize this kind of thing which is procrastinating because it is not good and it is very hard especially when it is really important to do. The act of habbit of procrastinating, or putting of or delaying, especially something requiring immediate attention: she was smart, but her constant procrastination led her to be late with almost every assignment is the action of postponing or delaying something, especially something requiring. Procrastination is an act everyone takes a part in everyday, regardless of their situation in life. Everyone in Senior High School students who have been out of school for a while participate in procrastination involves avoiding doing what we know we should be doing. Sometimes we can be creative in our avoidance strategies. The best diffinition for procrastination is the delaying of the task that was originally planned despite expecting to be wore off the delay (Van Eerde, 2003). It is evident that all conceptualizations of procrastination recognize that there must be a postponing, delaying, or putting of a task or decisions, in keeping with the term`s Latin origins of pro meaning ‘’forward, forth, or in favor of,` and crastinus, meaning ‘’of tomorrow’’ (Kleon,1971). Procrastinations dominates all areas of behavior and action but the most general form is academic procrastination which occurs in the academic setting. It is about having the knowledge that the student has to complete one more tasks or administer any activity for example solving a term of paper, preparing for exams, completing a class project or concluding a reading assignment, but lacking in motivation to do in a specified time period (Ackerman & Grass 2005). For many students, academic procrastination is associated with dysfunctional learning outcomes such as low academic performance, low quality of academic work, lack of knowledge, time pressure, drop out and lengthened course of study. Procrastination means to put off or postpone for another day. Procrastinations effects the behavioral, psychological, health of students. Academic procrastination is a form of procrastination peculator to education waiting until the last minute to turn in paper or to study for an examination. Due to skill deficits a lack of motivation, fear to failure or success people do procrastinate. This article throws light on academic procrastination, causes of procrastination and different strategies to overcome academic Procrastination. Benjamin Franklin, speaking out against the consequences of procrastination, named ‘’performing without fail what you solve’’ as one of his 13 virtues (Franklin, 1989, as cited in Knaus, 2000). The word procrastination comes from the late 16th century Latin procrastinates , which means ‘’deffered until tomorrow,’’ which is extracted from pro- ‘’forward’ ’ plus crastinus. Prior to the late 1970s, despite its long history, procrastination earned little recognition in the United States (Knaus, 2000). Steel did not provide a metanalytic and theoretical analysis of the essence of the problem until 2007, after combing through 621 sources for details. Nonetheless, some strong results have appeared, many of which contradict widely held assumptions about the causes and treatments of this issues. Procrastinations was regarded as one of the nearly a dozen key themes for this paper. These other methods were discussed and analyzed, but eventually dismissed as procrastination remained at the top of the priority list. It resonated with the author the most, as procrastination has plagued him to differing extents throughout his life. Most recently, procrastination had a significant role in his decision to switch occupations from Hollywood writer to psychology and therapy. All of the aspects of procrastination discussed in this article, such as aversion to challenging tasks, discounting distant goals, and giving into instant gratification, attributed to a smaller level of success in Film industry. In one side, the strategic initiatives it encouraging and normalizing to see that research has explored this very condition; on the other hand, it is frustrating to learn that the researcher is so fresh and therefore quite disorganized that it did not seem to be readily accessible to the author’s clinicians, and thus remedies could not be brought to bear when the issue was occurring. This paper will attempt to close the ideological divide for the reader by exploring the underlying causes of procrastinations as established by the most recent research through a review of literature review. Additionally, it will examine the concept that procrastination has a scale, and that at its top standard, it can have significant, lengthy ramifications. furthermore, it will investigate the idea that procrastination has a scale, and that its highest level, it can have serious, long-term repercussions. Finally, this paper will discuss several strategies for reducing the impact of procrastination, including the possibility of study into this phenomenon.
