Students will be able to prepare budgets and other internal management accounting reports. 4. Students will be able to collect relevant data to support business operations and prepare the proper entries to record the transactions of organizations. 5. Students will be able to recognize the determinants of taxable income and calculate the tax obligation for the purpose of tax compliance and tax planning. 6. Students will understand the purpose of financial statement, internal controls, operational and compliance audits, and be able to interpret the related audit reports. 7. Students will be familiar with the code of conduct for independent auditors. Writing was assessed on a sample of students taking ACC 424 during the Spring 2008 quarter. The ACC 424 class is one of the final accounting classes taken by students before they graduate. The assessment was done by an outside professional with substantial experience in the field of accounting.
