This impacting the members in various way due to the tight knit and values each family has. This article talks about how modern day nuclear family has grown more detached from each other and their environments. This article goes on to compare the interactions during the holidays between the extended family, explaining how the family found comfort and entertainment with each other. The author then goes on to lay out the history of large American families and how we found our way to detached nuclear families. This article goes on to contrast the family models of European Americans and families of color (E.g. Asian, Hispanic, and African). The author also explains that there is not a “typical” family due to there being different characteristics that can make up one family, such as, flexibility of roles, individuality vs interdependence, and the generations in one family. This is another source with a religious bias I am not sure I can use. However, the author of the article believes that our economy relies on large families by explaining how other countries’ economies have suffered as birthing rates have dropped. The author then goes to compare the countries with anti and pro natalist policies. I’m not sure I could use this website because it has a religious bias in this article. This website talks about how birth control goes against the nature of God, even after modern medicine and legislature deemed it acceptable.
