Anthropos means human and logy mean study. The study of human is called anthropology. Its meaning is so broad and general but precisely anthro is called as science of man and his behavior. There are two branches of anthropology in traditional way.  Physical Anthropology  Cultural Anthropology Urbanization: Urbanization refers to the population shift from rural to urban areas, the corresponding decrease in the proportion of people living in rural areas, and the ways in which societies adapt to this change. Urbanization is the movement of people from the country to towns and cities. The term also refers to the expansion of cities.  Growth of urban areas.  Urbanization has occurred many times in the past in different civilizations. What is urbanization and its effects? Urbanization affects the physical environment through the impacts of the number of people, their activities and the increased demands on resources. Urbanization has negative consequences on health due mainly to pollution and overcrowded living conditions. It can also put added pressure on food supply systems. Some of the major health problems resulting from urbanization include poor nutrition, pollution- related health conditions and communicable diseases, poor sanitation and housing conditions, and related health conditions. What are the two types of urbanization? 2 Urbanization growth are of two types.  Sub-urbanization  anti-urbanism Refers to the proportion of the total national population living in areas classified as urban, whereas urban growth strictly refers to the absolute number of people living in those areas. What are the 4 stages of urbanization? Now, urbanization process can be divided into four stages:  Initial stage  Acceleration stage  Deceleration stage  Terminal stage What are the three stages of urbanization? Sociologists examining urbanization patterns identify three major historical stages in city development.  Preindustrial  Industrial  Metropolitan Negative effects of urbanization:  Population increase causes housing problems.  Overcrowding.  Unemployment.  Development of Slums.  Water and Sanitation Problems.  Poor Health and Spread of Diseases.  Traffic Congestion.  Urban Crime.  Overcrowding In Urban Areas.  Many people move to the city in search of a better way of life and better job opportunities that  They cannot find in smaller towns.  Buying A House Might Be A Challenge.
