Camit 10 Sampaguita October 23, 2019 Technology Technology is a science or knowledge put into practical use to solve problems or invent useful tools. But defining technology is deeper than that. Technology has both its advantages and disadvantages. Nowadays, 21" century learners are independent and achievers. Their life is too easy, as technology had all its ways. Introducing technology to every individual can certainly help them in many ways. Technology is invented to make life easier, and make our work more productive, but it can also cause mental health and social problem; therefore people must limit using technology to avoid health risk. Modern technology is based on the latest advances on technology which are changing day by day. It is important that we must be alert as the technology changes. Technology has a lot of advantages that we basically enjoy, and disadvantages that sometimes we ignore. These advantages includes: easier access to information, promotes independent learning, enhanced communication, and a better access to reading materials. Its disadvantages are rarely; addiction, access to inappropriate content, distraction, and even cyber bullying. The advancement of technology has been proven to education friendly, however, it is distracting us on what is really important. We have been kept updated about class work through technology but with our freedom of having such devices, we sometimes took advantage and searches for inappropriate content. Technology is a hub of information. We can look up important information that can increase our knowledge. As much as it enhances learning, it is also a huge distraction to us students. Sometimes, there are students who don’t pay attention, instead they are surfing in the internet and play games. Technology also helps in relaying information from one another; unfortunately, it can also cause cyber bullying, as there are people who hacks accounts which makes it as the biggest disadvantage of modern technology. There are clearly pros and cons in using technology, and in this matter, we students are the one affected by it. The truth is, it is very important for students to learn and understand what technology really is. It already became a part of our daily lives to use technology, from our cellphones to our computers. We must understand that technology is a cool thing, but it should be used with proper knowledge. We should not be dependent on it. We should know that “what”, “why”, and “how” of it. Yvette Therese Pastolero 10 Sampaguita October 23 2019 Traffic Congestion Traffic congestion is the condition of the road network that occurs as use increase and is characterized by slow speeds longer trip times and increase of vehicular queueing. The most common examples is the physical use of roads by vehicles Road networks makes an important part of society and are essential for movement of people and goods . However also give negative effect to society one of which is congestion . Therefore people who use transportation must commute to lessen the number of it. In modern life , we have to face with many problems, one of which is traffic congestion that getting more serious day by day. The high volume of vehicle the in adequate infrastructure and irrational of the development are the mean reason for increasing traffic jam. The major causes is the high number of vehicles which caused by the population and development of economy. To solve this problem the government encourage people to use public transport or small size vehicle and make tax of private car . The inadequate infrastructure cannot handle the issue of traffic. Public transport such us bus ,sub way, or trains is very bad. The government should Make an investment in traffic facilities namely, build more overpasses, more lanes in the streets. Apparently, offices, universities, hospitals often located in the center of the city attracting the heavy flow of people in rush hour. It is necessary to encourage people to obey the traffic rules which make greatly change the problem. Another causes of traffic congestion is OBSTACLES Causing obstacles in the road are : 1. Double parking mean two cars are parked in one place which makes the road narrow. 2. Road work meaning there's a problem in the road like fixing under drainage broken road and others. * Accident *Road narrowing down *Lane closure due to utility work 3. Inadequate Green Time 4. Too many pedestrian crossing not permitting cars to turn . The transportation system in the Philippines is inefficient and it is not enough to accommodate the number of people commuting everyday. Buses, jeeps, and taxis seem to ignore the traffic laws and regulations. Buses act like small cars and seem to not mind other vehicles, jeeps load and unload anywhere, taxi drivers do not drive safely and demand high prices whenever the traffic is heavy. Most of the drivers drive recklessly, putting them and the passengers at risk. In progressive countries, a lot of people commute, even rich people commute but that is because they have a reliable mass transport system. In order for the Philippines to have a reliable system, it has to start with the government. The government has to do something effective that will accommodate the people and at the same time discipline the people. The effect of traffic congestion in cities from increased of air pollution and carbon dioxide levels affect as well as the social physiological impact such as increased anxiety,stress and road rage. Road rage is aggressive or angry behavior of a driver such as rude,offensive gesture, verbal insult, physical threat and many others. Road Rage is a criminal offense . Finally , it is high time we were aware of the disadvatages as well as the solution to the problem, with great effort each individual and government, our society will be cleaner and will organize . Therefore i conclude i rather suggest to to construct road widening, add buss lane , build tunnels overpass and we observe all the traffic rules .
