TV becoming outdated TV is becoming outdated because there are new ways forming every day to watch tv, one of those ways is called streaming. Cable television is a media outlet from the past that I consider to be non-essential. You have multiple ways to watch TV in 2022. With this new way of watching television, you now can live-stream TV shows as well as watch the most recent movies. According to Greenberg and Bell “For viewers looking for live sports, news, and local channels without cable, live TV streaming may be a worthwhile option.” Also, through the apps you can let them cater to the television programs you like to watch. You can set up your favorite shows within the app. With cable you must pull up the TV guide and search through the channels to find out what it is you want to watch. Through the apps I personally have movie apps, CNN news app, and children apps for my nephew. Being able to monitor and put parental controls on for my nephew is a feature that I like about streaming TV. The staff at agoodmovietowatch.com states “Major streaming platforms and devices have integrated parental control options so children can avoid stumbling across mature and inappropriate content while navigating the internet.” This makes me feel a lot more comfortable with my nephew and not worrying about him seeing something he should not see. These benefits are when one switches to streaming students, parents, and anyone looking to save money can do so when switching to streaming, parents will be able to place parental controls on the streaming devices of their children and lastly=y, everyone will be able to use live streaming by having the different apps that allow live streaming. Editorial (2020) discusses “Cable television becoming extinct” by cable bill increases and becoming more expensive thus, sending more consumers towards streaming. Many times, we as consumers are looking to save money wherever we can. Cable is also becoming extinct because, while streaming consumers can take their programs with them while traveling for work or on vacation. This is a reward that is offered by streaming that comes with the app that cable charges for. The Ideal Plus Editorial team also explains that cable TV is not flexible for adapting to an unfamiliar environment. There are teams that set out to see what's new whereas streaming has different algorithms set. Cnet.com does a price comparison of cable versus streaming.
