BRODERICK’S ART ACTIVITIES ART LINES • What is a line? • A line is a mark drawn with a pointed, moving tool. • A line is a path of a dot through space. • Lines can look different, they can have different lengths, widths, textures, directions and a degree of curve. • There are five basic lines: Vertical, Horizontal, Diagonal, Curved and Zig-Zag. • Additional lines: Curly, Spiral, Scallop, Criss-Cross, Wavy SECONDARY COLORS • What are secondary colors? • Secondary colors are made by mixing 2 Primary colors. Primary + Primary = Secondary ART LINE & SECONDARY COLORS ACTIVITY Materials needed: • White paper • Pencil • Eraser • Ruler • Black marker • Green, Orange and Violet crayons Instructions: 1. Use the pencil and ruler and divide your paper into 4 sections .Use your pencil and the width of your ruler to draw diagonal, horizontal and vertical lines in each section. 2. Use your black marker to cover your pencil lines. Erase any pencil marks that are showing. 3. Color in the sections with the secondary color crayons. As you can see I applied my colors in a pattern; Orange, Green and Violet. GEOMETRIC SHAPES • What is a Geometric shape? • Geometric shapes are precise shapes that can be described using mathematical formulas. • The basic geometric shapes are: circle, square and triangle. • Other geometric shapes include: rectangle, oval, pentagon, hexagon and diamond.
