It can also be used for treating irritating wounds and applying some medicine. Autoclave - decontaminate certain biological waste and sterilize media, instruments and lab ware. Beaker - used to hold or mix chemicals. They are also used to catch liquids from titrations and filtrates from filtering operations. Centrifuge - used to perform centrifugation that separates various components of a fluid. Cover slip - used to cover and protect specimen on a microscope slide.
