Biography Gavan Watson joined Western University in 2014 as Associate Director, eLearning at the Teaching Support Centre and was appointed in 2015 to the Faculty of Education as Adjunct Research Faculty in the Centre for Research in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. Dr. Watson earned his PhD in Environmental Education from York University and has published work in the fields of Environmental Education, the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and Technology-enhanced learning. His research interests include the scholarship of educational development practice, free-choice environmental learning, curriculum development & assessment in higher education and the role of technology in supporting University instructional practices. Involved in the broad Educational Development community, Dr. Watson has sat on the executive of the Council of Ontario Educational Developers (2014-2016) and the board of directors of the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (2017-2020) . Gavan moved to Memorial University in the fall of 2018. He is currently their AVP (Teaching and Learning).
