Running head: WEEK 5: DISCUSSION 1 Week 5: Discussion 1 Name Course Instructor Date of Submission WEEK 5: DISCUSSION 2 Discussion 1: Intellectual Property and Technology Internet business has enabled numerous firms despite size to perform on the international market through electronic communication. However, advanced technology has significantly increased the challenges over the internet business, where domains are given as trademarks (Rogers, 2012). Presently, even though the internet business platform has acquired a registered domain, there lacks security and privacy since, with technology, one can copy let say movies and music without the consent of the royalty. According to Rogers (2012), several challenges have emerged about the legal concerns over the internet business among them how to incorporate the traditional laws and rules of demand and supply in the online transactions, to balance the free flow of information and communication including protection of privacy. Hacking, cyberbullying and counterfeit are other issues raised by internet trading, which is so difficult to control since there are no limited boundaries for system users. I predict business system hacking will be the primary concern in the future as regards to the law and business practices. Technology continues to be the talk of the day, and young persons are giving it much attention to learn and develop something unique out of it; there are repeated cases reported about malicious people trying to access online business such as banking or governmental systems to transfer monies or acquire sensitive information about the institution. The routine tents to increase with more people getting access to improved technology; the primary issue is that a hacker in China or Russia can easily get access to your computer just like someone in the neighbourhood could do (Rogers, 2012).
