Health Inequity/Disparity Throughout the past few decades, the global building sector has expanded, which has boosted business profitability, financial accessibility, and global commodity demand. Despite its significance, it has consistently been among the world's most dangerous businesses. Due to respective locations and labor requirements, construction undertakings are dynamic yet complicated. They are transient and temporary. For instance, construction companies typically use temporary workers as part of their staff. Building crews are more likely to suffer an injury or pass away since they spend most of their day on construction sites (Ghodrati et al., 2018). Construction workers experience occupational injuries frequently, resulting in long-term disability and a significant death rate. Primary Community and Prevention Resources Fall prevention, in broad, relates to any procedures and controls employed to decrease the overall severity and effect of a coming fall. Facilities like scaffolding, guard rails, and barricades are fall prevention variables. Operational measures like fall prevention planning or risk preparation for construction employees also fall prevention regulations. Personal Safety Equipment complies with OSHA regulations, like hard helmets, harnesses, or lanyards, is a part of fall protection. Naturally, OSHA's Fall Prevention criterion also mandates that construction personnel receive sufficient education on how to put on and use the PPE. 2 lOMoARcPSD|3013804 SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN C229 Social Media Campaign Objective My social media campaign goal is to reduce the rate of falls on construction sites by 5 percent in the next year. Social Marketing Interventions I would first use a Facebook page to target my construction site users. This page would be public and made viewable to all. Facebook offers room to educate the public on the dangers of not adhering to the guidelines and standards set at construction sites. In addition, the possible risks and associated preventive measures may also be addressed on this platform, reducing injuries and fatalities. On this Facebook page, fall statistics will be shared, ways of preventing falls, links to OSHA videos, PPE awareness, and weekly updates on fall reduction progress. I would also have links to other platforms such as Tik Tok videos for the newer age viewers. These videos would share ways to wear PPE on the job sites and how to wear PPE correctly. On this page, there would be multiple resources available to click on, such as ways to stay healthy on the job site with dietary tips, PPE awareness, how to report a fall, and community health department locations for accidents as well as WellCare. Description of Social Media Platform The emergence of social media platforms such as Facebook has made it possible to educate the public about the hazards that can result from failing to adhere to the rules and regulations that are in place at building sites. I chose Facebook because it is used by a considerable percentage of the world's population. Because of its large following, my hope is that it reaches all communities. Not specific to gender, race, or economic status. It is easy to share and link other resources to the original page, making it user friendly. I chose Tik Tok as my secondary platform, the newest platform being used and shared throughout the web. It is easily 5 lOMoARcPSD|3013804 SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN C229 shared and linked to other platforms and allows users to watch short eye-catching videos. These options make resource accessibility available from their mobile devices within one click and on the go. Benefits of Social Media Platforms The public can be warned of the dangers of disregarding construction site laws and regulations, thanks to the proliferation of social media platforms such as Facebook. Potential risks and preventative measures related to them may be discussed in such forums, leading to fewer accidents and fatalities (Bulger et al., 2019). The CDC recommends the following qualities when publishing content; it should be interesting, relevant, and useful. By providing a page that is appealing to and catches the eye, educational and on the topic to reach my goal, geared towards the targeted audience, and easy to navigate and shareable to the public, then my page follows those recommendations and should be appealing to the public and viewable by many. Stakeholder Roles and Responsibilities I would be the main stakeholder in this campaign as I would be the project's creator. I would not only be the creator and monitor of the Facebook page itself, but I would be the one updating the falls monthly to track progress. I would have a secondary person for the Tik Tok account responsible for uploading and attaching the videos on the correct way of applying PPE videos. Potential Public and Private Partnerships I would first reach out to the Florida Community Health / Occupational Health Department. They could keep me up to date on incoming patient counts for falls on worksites. They also are a great resource for the community and could spread the word on the campaign Facebook page, sharing it with the targeted public target population within the community. The 6 lOMoARcPSD|3013804 SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN C229 second I would reach out to would be OSHA. The leaders in fall prevention training. I would also partner with them and make their videos and resources available on my Facebook page. Timeline Overall, I would plan for my project to take 1 months. To begin I would find my partner to take on the Tik Tok account as a community service project and donation of their time. I would have them start by creating 5 short PPE videos to be posted at the page's launch. To begin the Facebook page the Tik Tok videos will be shared, links to our partners shared, community resources shared, and three new posts to start the campaign. Over the next one month the goal is to begin sharing and getting the word to the public, reaching more viewers daily with an expected fully functioning Facebook social media campaign with a measurable increase in viewers three months after launch of campaign. Evaluation One way I could evaluate the use of my campaign would be to add a review option on my page, one like a business would. On a scale of 1-5, how helpful in educating on falls was this information? I would also leave a comment/suggestion section on my page. A place where one could leave a comment or suggestion on something they would like shared or something we could do better. Each review, question and/or suggestion would be reviewed by me and taken into consideration and improvements made accordingly. Cost of Implementing the Campaign The benefits to using social media platforms are they are free of charge. Mobile providers do not charge to upload their applications and they are accessible via the web free of charge as well. I would not charge as the creator of the page and I would ask that the Tik Tok facilitator donate their time as a community service project. 7
