Then canvassing for VV Giri Indira Gandhi made fervent appeal to Congress and other MPs to vote as per their conscience even if it meant to go beyond party's stand. • Lack of proper proof lead to dismissal of case Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, N Sanjiva Reddy and Giani Zail Singh • was challenged by a rather non-serious candidate Charan Lal Sahu • Court rejected and warned charan lal sahu and even he was awarded monetary punishment Pratibha patil * Not challenged
