Learning and Simple Learning Processes: Habituation, Sensitization, and Conditioning - Pro, Exams of Psychology

This lecture introduces the concept of learning as a change in behavior due to experience. Behavior is systematic and orderly, and changes in responding form a pattern. The lecture covers three types of simple learning: non-associative learning procedures, including habituation and sensitization, and pavlovian and instrumental conditioning. Habituation involves a decrease in response to a stimulus, while sensitization results in an increased response. The solomon-corbit model of addiction is also discussed, which explains addiction through habituation and sensitization of emotional reactions to drugs.
