Describe and illustrate five types of informative presentations - The five types of informative presentations are presentations about objects (talking about cellos or digital cameras), presentations about procedures (how to‘s and telling about how something is done or made), presentations about people (biographical presentations), presentation about events (talking about pearl harbor or the world series), and presentations about ideas (talking about freedom of speech, evolution, or Buddhism). 1. Identify and use appropriate strategies for organizing informative presentations - A presentation about an object should be organized topically, a presentations about a procedure should be organized chronologically, a presentation about a person can be organized chronologically (birth, important events, death) or could be organized topically (The great things that Winston Churchill did are X, Y, and Z), a presentation about an event will generally be organized chronologically however if it discussed the complex issues or causes behind the even it could be organized topically, and a presentation about an idea will be organized topically. 1. Identify and use appropriate strategies for making informative presentations clear - Informative presentations will be clear if the speaker simplifies the ideas, paces the information flow, and relates new information to old information. 1. Identify and use appropriate strategies for making informative presentations interesting - Informative presentations will be interesting if they relate to the listeners’ interests, use attention-catching supporting material, establish a motive for your audience to listen to you, use word pictures (vivid words that invite listeners to draw on their senses), create interesting presentation
