Definitions for various types of stress, including functional stress, dysfunctional stress, physiological stress, and psychological stress. Functional stress refers to positive stress that can make us feel focused, energized, and motivated. Dysfunctional stress, on the other hand, is negative and can lead to feelings of tension, anxiety, anger, or depression. Physiological stress can result in sexual dysfunction, headaches, high blood pressure, and even heart attacks. Psychological stress is caused by undefined job responsibilities, lack of recognition, and lack of priorities. Behavioral stress is expressed through eating habits, smoking, drinking, and hurried speech.
