Learning Objective Success Criteria • Christianity is a monotheistic religion. This means they believe in one God. • However, Christians regularly talk about God being three people: What Is the Trinity? • The Father • The Son • The Holy Spirit • Each of these people is God. • As you can imagine, the idea that three people are all one God is quite difficult to understand. Even some Christians think it is a complex idea. It is often referred to as the ‘mystery of the Trinity’. The Nicene Creed • The Nicene Creed is one of the main statements of faith in Christianity. • It tells us a lot about Christian beliefs about God. • Read the Nicene Creed and start to complete your activity sheet. • As we have seen, the Trinity is made up of three people. All of these people are God. • Christians believe humanity has encountered God in each of these three forms. • The Father, Son and Holy Spirit each have different roles.
