CLASS OF 2020 PLACEMENT HIGHLIGHTS Data were drawn from the commencement program, VU student records, YES, and most of all from the VUSE “Survey of Future Plans” given in the month prior to commencement to all May 2020 graduates. The overall response rate was 97%. BME - All, 53 ChE, 41 CE, 17 CompE, 23 CS, 114 EE- All, 22 ES, 55 ME, 49 All Bachelor Degrees Earned by Major 2019/2020 Combined Counts by Major Job Offer - Domestic, 188, 59% Looking - Domestic, 33, 10% Job Offer - Int'l, 7, 2% Looking - Int'l, 4, 1% Medical or Dental School (Admitted), 11, 4% Medical or Dental School (Not Yet Admitted), 1, 0% Other, 26, 8% Graduate School (Not Yet Admitted), 3, 1% Graduate School (Admitted), 46, 15% Destinations of May 2020 Graduates Five (5) double majors are counted in each major. • Salaries reported (N= 159) by domestic graduates accepting employment in US. • Error bars indicate standard deviation of accepted salary offers. • Salaries varied significantly by geographic region. 19% OF THE CLASS OF 2020 PLANNED TO ATTEND GRADUATE OR PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL. Regarding those headed to graduate school: • 94% of students who applied were admitted. • 48% expressed clear intention to pursue a doctorate. • 76% planned to study engineering or computer science. • Average reported annual stipend for graduate study was $32,438, and the median was $32,750.
