Activate the Data analysis tool by going to Tools Add-Ins and checking the boxes next to Analysis ToolPak and Analysis ToolPak- VBA. Now, enter your data. The name of the variable goes in the first cell, and the numerical values begin im- mediately below it. Lab 1: Confidence Intervals Stat 244 Winter 2009 due January 22 Select Tools Data Analysis Descriptive Statistics. For the Input Range, highlight the data set, including the name of the variable at the top. Check the Labels in First Row box. Click the button next to Output Range. Click once in the empty box to the right of Output Range. The, select an empty cell in the spreadsheet. Check the Summary statistics box. Check the Confidence Level for Mean box and fill in the desired confidence level. Click OK. Highlight the output from the Data Analysis tool and click Format Column AutoFit Selection.
