CONTENT STANDARDS The learner demonstrates understanding of lifestyle and weight management to promote community fitness B. LEARNING COMPETENCIES /OBJECTIVES KNOWLEDGE: Understand the nature & background of the volleyball and learn the benefits we can get by playing this game. Psychomotor: Practice at least one basic skills of a volleyball game; Participate in Active Recreation (Code: (PE9GS-IVb-h-7) Attitude: Appreciate the fitness benefits a person can get if he/she participate an active recreational activity like volleyball. OTHER LEARNING RESOURCES volleyball equipment and facilities - Google Search IV. PROCEDURES A. REVIEWING PREVIOUS LESSON a. Checking of Attendance and reviewing the Classroom Policies and Guidelines. (Establish a safe and secure learning environments to enhance learning through the consistent implementation of policies, guidelines and procedures to enhance learning and maintain learning environment that promote fairness, respect, and care to encourage learning. b. Recall the previous topic (Active Recreational Activities) using PowerPoint presentation. B. MOTIVATION Today’s lesson we will focus on one of the active recreational activities that almost all of you loved to engage in. C. ESTABLISHING A PURPOSE FOR THE LESSON The teacher asks the students about how important that we should engage in active recreational activities. D. Presenting New Lesson The Teacher introduces the new lesson by presenting some pictures of a volleyball game and its facilities and equipment. c. DISCUSSING NEW CONCEPTS AND PRACTICING NEW SKILLS IN #1 The teacher discusses the nature & background of a volleyball game d. DISCUSSING NEW CONCEPTS AND The Teacher discusses the Fitness benefits of a volleyball game. PRACTICING NEW SKILLS #2 e. DEVELOPING MASTERY (3) The Teacher Shows a short video presentation that shows how a forearm pass improves our physical health. (The Teacher Applies knowledge and content within and across curriculum teaching areas (Science-Kinesiology ) f. APPLICATIONS Now that we already know that participation in active recreational activities really improves our physical fitness, can you identify one of your household chores which has the same physical fitness benefits? Can you name it and describe how it improves our physical fitness? g. ABSTRACTION Engaging in active recreational activities is very important in one’s life because it helps us develop our personality. It makes us healthy outside (Physically Healthy) but also inside (Mentally healthy, Morally/spiritually healthy, socially healthy, and emotionally healthy. h. ASSESSMENT Answer the following questions in a ¼ sheet of paper. (The Questions can be found in the teacher-made PowerPoint Presentation or Video Lesson. i. ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR APPLICATION/ASSIGNMENT Practice the Serve-Receive-Set- Spike Pattern in Volleyball. For the students who have disabilities or health problems and was advised by the physician to refrain from strenuous activities, you will participate the activity by becoming a referee or a line judge. (Design, adapt and implement teaching strategies that are responsive to learners with disabilities, giftedness, and talents.), (Apply a range of teaching strategies that maintain learning environments that motivate learners to work productively by assuming responsibility for their own learning.) For the students who don’t have a ball and net in your community like for example your community uses the traditional ball made of vines, I encouraged to make an improvised ball based on your culture and tradition. You can also improvise a net using any localized materials. Moreover, if your heights are too short for the standard height of the net and that, you cannot spike the ball using the standard net height, you can lower down the net base on your preference so that the Serve-Receive-Set-Spike pattern can be made. (Adapting or Integrating IP culture in the Lesson) V. REMARKS VI. REFLECTION A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the evaluation B. No. of learners who require additional activities for remediation who scored below 80% C. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of learners who have caught up the lesson. D. No. of learners who continue to require remediation. E. What difficulties did I encounter which my principal or supervisor can help me solve? F.
