This pageant is a project under the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Area and it’s coordinator is Ms. Ma. Laarni A. Gomez and the chairman of the event is Sir Digno C. Salamat, the Administrative Officer for External Affairs of the school. The goal of “Ginoo at Binibining Kalikasan 2019” is to showcase the creatively talented students of the school and to raise environmental awareness amongst the students. The said event had four main parts: Production Number of the contestants, Casual Wear, Formal Wear and the Question and Answer Portion. The pageant started with the Production Number of the contestants dancing to the Pintaflores Festival Song wearing their white top and shorts. They danced to the song again afterwards but this time, the candidates are wearing their casual wear which is made up of Non-Biodegradable materials. Following the Production number is the Casual Wear portion and after that, special awards were announced such as the Most Friendly and Most Photogenic for both categories. The Formal Wear portion came next wherein the candidates were able to flaunt their costumes made out of Biodegradable Materials. After the Formal Wear Portion, the candidates were serenaded by __ and the announcement of awards and Top 5 followed. The awards that were given are Best in Production Number, Best in Casual Wear, and Best in Formal wear for both categories. The Top 5 were also announced afterwards. The Finalists headed straight to the Question and Answer portion. In the said portion, the candidates were shown a picture connected to the issues and problems about the environment that we are facing right now and they have to react or interpret it under 45 seconds. The totaling of scores took a while and after the results are finally finished, they announced the winners and the title holder for “Ginoo at Binibining Kalikasan 2019”. After the pageant, the school held an After Party for the students and that concluded the 41st Foundation Anniversary of Holy Rosary College. “Ginoo at Binibining Kalikasan 2019” is a successful event. The theme of the “Ginoo at Binibining Kalikasan 2019” pageant is very timely for in the present time, we are facing a lot of environmental crisis and we should be aware of it, especially the students, for they are the ones who will face it in the future so they should be knowledgeable about it now. According to Miss Earth (2001), beauty pageants are an effective way of raising environmental awareness. That is why this event is a great platform on alerting the students about the different problems we are facing. The event also became a way for the students to show their teamwork and cooperativeness as a section for every dress and costume worn by the candidates were hand made by the students and their teachers. It is very hard to start a dress from scratch but each section made it possible and of course, with the help of their teachers. The location of the event is in the Gymnasium and it is big enough to accommodate everyone including the teachers, the students and the parents of the candidates. But I think it is a problem that the students are not given seats for it is very uncomfortable to stand through the whole pageant and it looks very disorganized with everyone standing up. It may have been better if they provided extra chairs for the students and not only for the parents and teachers. If we are going to talk about the stage set up, it is very beautiful especially at night. The stage also has an LED Screen which makes it easier for the audience to see the candidates on stage. The stage used flowers, leaves and water in a rounded plastic which provided a very “nature” effect which blends in with the theme of the pageant. The even goal should reflect your theme and your stage design should amplify both (EventMB Studio Team, 2019). The host, Sir Digno C. Salamat is a very good host for he was able to buy time whenever there are technical difficulties or when it takes too long computing the results. He was able to keep the audience listening and energized throughout the event. But of course, every event has a weakness. I think that the event’s flow is not that
