Creation Studies Name of Student Name of Institution Date Creation studies teach many perspectives concerning creations, and humankind has adopted different perceptions towards Creation. Generally, God took seven days to create the universe, including all its elements, but Genesis states that Creation did not take 24-hour days but billions of years. On the other hand, progressive creationists believe that the recorded earth's age is incorrect. This is a belief which raises challenges and also opposes atheistic evolutionism and young-earth creationism. The purpose of this writing is to explain the difference between the traditional interpretation of Creation and progressive creationism, for Creation is the most powerful thing to humankind. God created and sustains the Cosmos; we believe and teach about. For mankind, God supplied both "special revelation" (Scriptures) and "universal revelation" (nature). The Bible declares that God's Creation is good (Genesis 1:31, NRSV). According to modern cosmology, the universe is astronomically vast and hence very old (approximately 13.8 billion years), and our solar system has been around for almost five billion years. "As I look up to the heavens, your fingers’ work, stars and moon you have created; what are human beings you are aware of, mortals that you care for them?" (Psalms 8:3-4, NRSV). As a result, we, by faith, believe that God created the Cosmos, but we are undecided about the specifics of God's approach. St. Augustine, one of the most prominent theologians in Christian history, proposed as early as the fourth century that the six-day pattern of Creation in Genesis represents a logical framework rather than the specific passage of time. He said that understanding the creation account is challenging and that Christians should be prepared to modify their beliefs if new evidence emerges (Nonaka et al. 2006, 1193). Many Christians follow this tradition and can incorporate new scientific findings into their worldview.
