Key provisions of the employee free choice act, which aims to simplify the process of union certification and address labor disputes. The act requires the national labor relations board (nlrb) to certify a union as the bargaining representative if a majority of employees in a unit sign authorizations. It also mandates first agreement arbitration if parties cannot agree on an initial agreement and strengthens enforcement of the unfair labor practice (uflp) against unlawful employment discrimination and coercion during organizing campaigns.
