Introduction Practice #1 Look at each picture. Pick the word or phrase that best says something about the picture. (The teacher will present a picture to the class.) Do you have cats at home? Except from cat, what are the other pets do you have? What are the things you should do to take care of your pets? B. Development (Before telling the story the teacher will ask the pupils to give the standards in reading a story.) The Two Cats and the Bug I have two pet cats. Tin is my brown cat. Ken is my black cat. Tin brown cat sits on a red mat. She is fat and pretty. She likes to sit on the red mat. And now Ken is mad. “You can’t have my mat!” she says to Tin. Tin is sad. Suddenly there is a red bug flying on the mug. Ken, black cat got scared. He ran away and tumbled down in Mom’s pot. Oh no! the pot was broken. Still the bug coming with him. Tin is getting her way to help Ken. He used net to catch the bug. Finally, he caught it. He put the red bug in the jar. (The teacher will ask some questions about the story.) Comprehension Questions: • What is the title of the story? • Who are the two cats in the story? • What are the colors of the two cats? • Who likes to sit on the red mat? • Why Ken is mad at Tin? • Why Ken got scared? • What did Ken used to catch the bug? • What happened to the bug? Now, we have the underlined words from the story we read.
