Chee BSN 1-G How can you make use of microbiology in your everyday life most especially during this time of pandemic? Microbiology is a branch of biology that examines microscopic unicellular or cell-cluster organisms and infectious agents known as microorganisms (also known as microbes). Bacteria, archaea, viruses, eukaryotes, fungus, prions, protozoa, and algae are among the microorganisms researched by microbiologists. The size and properties of these microorganisms can vary greatly. Even though bacteria are commonly associated with illness, many other bacteria have various advantages. Microbes, for example, are at the heart of industrial fermentation (which produces beneficial products like alcohol, vinegar, and dairy products) and antibiotic synthesis. They also serve as molecular vehicles for delivering DNA to more complex organisms like plants and animals. Microbiologists investigate bacteria at the molecular level (molecular biology), at the cellular level (cell biology and physiology), and at the community level (community microbiology) (public health, ecology, and epidemiology). Virology, parasitology, mycology, microbial genetics, and bacteriology are all branches of microbiology. The COVID-19 epidemic has posed several obstacles and stresses at all levels of school, particularly as a result of lockdown and social isolation tactics. Educators have adapted to the new circumstances after a period of exclusively using the online educational environment, and have struggled to overcome the limitations and flaws of virtual learning using a variety of ways. The key educational difficulties that must be addressed with the new didactic instruments established during the epidemic remain student motivation, productivity, and originality. At the same time, this epidemic has highlighted the relevance of microbiology as a core component of the educational curriculum, as well as the chance to promote public awareness of microbes’ role in everyday life. Because these pandemics are caused by viruses, microbiology is extremely important in our civilization. COVID-19 testing must be done as soon as possible in both private and public laboratories, to prevent the pandemic from spreading. Due to significant logistical problems and budget constraints, achieving the goal of fast testing in a large population is not viable. The only way to meet the goal is to work as part of a team that includes a microbiologist. The covid-19 pandemic has brought the importance of microbiologists to the fore. Before explaining microbial diseases and their capabilities, you must first understand how a bacterium functions. Microbiologists' knowledge must be put to good use in illness management, new technology creation, and enhancing the general quality of life. During the pandemic, a microbiologist is making a significant difference and is indirectly saving countless lives.
