TERM 4 Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) DEFINITION 4 Employees have the right to seek reasonable accommodations to allow employee to perform essential functions of his or her job. TERM 5 Age Discrimination Employment Act DEFINITION 5 - Prohibits employment discrimination on the basis of age against people 40 years old or older- All private employment with 20 or more employees and all unions with 25 or more members must comply TERM 6 Sexual Harassment DEFINITION 6 - Harassment on the basis of sex that has the purpose or effect of substantially interfering with a person's work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment - Enforced by EEOC under title VII- NOT only protect harassment fomr the other gener but also form the same - sex harassment TERM 7 Equal Employment Opportunity Commission(EEOC) DEFINITION 7 - Created by the civil right act of 1964- Responsible for enforcing non discrimination law in the US- Covers most employers with at least 15 employees TERM 8 KSAs DEFINITION 8 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities TERM 9 Training Process DEFINITION 9 - Assessment = analyze training needs, Identify training objective and criteria- Design = pretest trainees, selects methods, plans training contest- Delivery = schedule training, conducts training, Monitors training- Evaluation = measure triaing outcomes compares outcomes to objectives/criteria TERM 10 Developing a needs assessment DEFINITION 10 - Identifies the gap between what employees should be doing and what they are actually doing.- Indicator = guest dissatisfaction, low moral, high waste, ect- Do SWOT to identify gaps- Task and behavior analysis- Individual Analysis- figuring out who needs training
