Therefore, punishment is one of the most important aspects that help them to learn the difference. In my opinion, | believe that discipline can make them good people in the future, but only light punishment should be given. Punishment tells children what they should do or their behaviour is not proper in a specific situation. For example, when a kid breaks a vase or a window whether by mistake or not, he has to say sorry to the owner. Children must be taught to say sorry when they make mistakes or they will not respect other people. Consequently, this can lead to a morally degraded society in which today’s children will operate in the future. In addition, children also have to be taught to treat others well to form a good personality. As a result, other children such as their friends can learn such good characteristics from them. However, punishment should depend on the mistakes children make. Strict penalties like slapping in the face in front of many people can make them feel embarrassed and somewhat lead to depression. Instead, parents and teachers should remind them what not to do in a private place to help them know right and wrong. For example, parents can cut off children’s pocket money to show them why they are punished. To sum up, children need to be punished for their mistakes but punishments should be appropriate to make kids understand the wrong. In conclusion, punishments should be carried out when children misbehave. However, they should be mild so as not to hurt their feelings.
