TERM 5 3 examples of state of exception DEFINITION 5 Indefinite detention: override habeas corpus which states that if you can't charge them, you can't detain them Extraordinary rendition: sending suspects to different countries for various purposes such as allowance of torture for interrogation (kidnapping) Torture: accomplished geographically (rendition) and by changing legal status (from prisoner of war to unlawful combatant) so they are no longer protected by Titles 18 or US International law because they are not considered US citizens TERM 6 East/West divide DEFINITION 6 refers to the division between economic systems throughout the 20th century.
