Download Final Reflective Essay - Writing - Social Science | ENGL 198 and more Papers English Language in PDF only on Docsity! Engl 198 / Envir 100 Final Reflective Essay 2 pp. typed & double-spaced = a GRADED assignment! Reread the reflection you composed at the beginning of this class (HW #1, due 9/26). Then consider your work in both Envir 100 and Engl 198 since writing that homework assignment / reflection, thinking especially about connections between how you now understand the “environment” and the “environmental” issues, problems, and relationships covered in both classes. Compose a reflective essay that summarizes the most interesting or notable impacts (for you) of your work in Envir 100 / Engl 198 this quarter on your own ideas and assumptions about the environment and environmental thinking, research, and work. Connect your essay to the written assignments, papers, and discussions in both the writing link and lecture courses (though not all of them, those that are most relevant and important, to your reflection). Answer at least the first and last questions, below, as well as any others that seem interesting or relevant to your experience in 100 / 198 in your essay: • What, for you, are the most interesting key themes and questions from Envir 100? (required question!) • What did this class reveal to you, as a whole, about the environment and environmental issues, problems, and relationships (e.g., as in human impacts on the environment)? • Which lectures, readings, course “units,” or other materials (films or field work, etc.) were most interesting to you and why? • Which paper project (in 198) was most interesting to you? Why? • What would you say your strengths are, as a reader and writer, at the end of this class? What are your potential weaknesses, or areas and skills you’d like to improve in future classes? (required question!) Finally, you are the primary audience for this essay. Write “to yourself,” about what you’re “taking away” from your (reading and writing) work in this class. Grading: The reflective essay will be graded like a homework assignment, based on completeness and thoughtfulness (in view of the requirements, above). It will receive a numerical mark (on the 4.0-scale) and comprise 5% of your course grade in English 198.
