FINANCE CHEAT SHEET CAREER SUMMARY SECTION This is the most important area of the resume to provide employers with an overview of your highest-level accomplishments. This section tells the reader what type of work you’ve done using the lens of the types of roles that you’re targeting. The Career Summary section should include at least 3 action-oriented statements that highlight your most impressive abilities and relevant career highlights. Some elements to highlight in the Career Summary section: - The types of companies that you’ve worked with - The annual revenue of these organizations - The # of clients that you worked with directly - The types of programs/projects that you’ve worked on - The computer programs that you’re familiar with CAREER SUMMARY SECTION EXAMPLE: Audit Assistant Junior Auditor with nearly five years of experience contributing to financial tracking and reporting procedures on behalf of leading financial institutions and investment firms. Track record of interfacing directly with external consultants and auditors to ensure full compliance with federal regulations and accounting requirements. Career history of multiple promotions in recognition of outstanding performance and leadership abilities. CAREER SUMMARY SECTION EXAMPLE: Finance Degree Candidate Finance Degree candidate with prior experience working closely with financial services executives and investment professionals to optimize internal processes, supporting firms with up to $1 billion in assets under management. Track record of reviewing complex documentation pertaining to SEC filings, commodities, commercial lease agreements and historic transactions, promoting accuracy and integrity of financial information. Since many employers use Applicant Tracking Systems, this section is a great way to include relevant skills.
