THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD ESSAY 1 Instruction: In this section of the module, your general knowledge and understanding of the subject so far will be tested. Please answer the following questions in a 150-word essay. What is Globalization and How does it occur subjectively? 1. Why should we use the interdisciplinary approach in studying Globalization? 2. Why do we need to exercise our sociological imagination to make sense of the contemporary world? 3. Explain the difference between the State and The Nation. What is Globalization, and how does it occur subjectively? Globalization is said to be a free pass to social change as it generated an increase of interconnectedness in numerous states and nations worldwide. It also pertains to the association of state and non-state components such as economic, cultural, political, etc., which not only limit a single area but also exceed territorial barriers. Since information about different social issues worldwide is now effortlessly disseminated, people are more conscious of the modernity of the world they live in. The subjectivity of Globalization is shown in how mindful today's generation is of the contemporary world's different phenomena and dilemmas. People are responding to several global matters that do not entirely affect them. They voice their opinions and sentiments about the matter on different social media platforms, which also helps raise awareness among a more significant number of people around the globe. Why should we use the interdisciplinary approach in studying Globalization? As Globalization continues to expand and intensify, information about it becomes richer and more complex to explore; therefore, it would be effective to discern Globalization on a broader scope to understand its concept entirely. Studying Globalization using an interdisciplinary approach would allow learners to obtain information from a broader range of knowledge with clear and precise ideas. It enables the combination of distinct ideas, perceptions, facts, etc., as well as exploring the different components, elements, factors, and other ideas about Globalization from multiple viewpoints. By understanding Globalization from different perspectives, learners will be able to gather substantial information about the topics, understand every part of it, know its significance, and dig a more profound knowledge about it. Moreover, interdisciplinary studies further deal with the learners' differences and capabilities as it helps recognize students' distinctive characteristics that will benefit teachers to know how they can enhance their students' abilities. Why do we need to exercise our sociological imagination to make sense of the contemporary world? As information continues to flow along with the countless issues in the world, every individual needs to be aware of its significance and how those issues and information might impact them. Sociological imagination is the power to recognize how social structures impact people, families, organizations, and the nation. It allows an individual to have a realistic understanding of the relationship among the various aspects of the contemporary world along with its complexity and sophistication. Furthermore, sociological imagination enables individuals to comprehend history and biography as well as the relationship bounded by the two. With sociological imagination, people's perception will be broadened to comprehend sociologically that what an individual might think as personal experiences and difficulties might be similarly experienced by a larger group of people which can be considered a crisis in society. Explain the difference between the State and The Nation. Along with the intensified social relations and global consciousness across foreign countries, Globalization, to have a better effect and influence on individuals, needs people who work in unity and share various living bases. Achieving unity needs
