Here are four main points to remember when it comes to grammar codes. .Grammar rules are simple to teach and understand.1 Grammar describes how words are put together in a phrase. When you speak or compose, you must arrange the sentences in the correct order for anyone to hear what you're speaking or writing. 2. Sentences don’t always follow rules. A rule is something that you can or cannot do, or what you are allowed or not allowed to do. You need to know how English grammar is different from grammar in your language. You need to know that there are some things that you can do in your language that you can’t do in English. English speakers say, “I am 30 years old” while French speakers say, “I have 30 years.” You can’t say, “I have 30 years” when talking about your age in English. 6 The function of Grammar Rules The grammatical function is the syntactic role of a word or phrase within the meaning of a clause or statement. Occasionally, the term "function" is used. The location of a word in a sentence determines grammatical role in English, not inflection (or word endings). The description of word classes, phrases, and clauses in terms of their structure is part of the study of form. We now turn to the study of grammar from the perspective of function: this notion refers to what words, phrases, and clauses do as units of language. Grammatical functions are the roles Different constituents (strings of words that function as units) play different roles in clauses. Subject and Object are two examples (also called Direct objects). 7 Conclusion In the end, we have come to know that, "grammar rules" are essential parts of getting expert people inside any identified language. Grammar rules are the sounds, words, sentences, and other elements, as well as their combination and interpretation. The word grammar also denotes the study of these abstract features or a book presenting these rules. In a restricted sense, the term refers only to the study of sentence and word structure (syntax and morphology), excluding vocabulary and pronunciation.
