Download Actors' Career Profiles: Hannah's Law - Glover, Elise, Zane and more Study notes Law in PDF only on Docsity! ‘HANNAH’S LAW’ CAST BIOS SARA CANNING (Hannah Beaumont) – Sara Canning is best known for her role as Jenna Sommers on the CW‘s hit TV show ―The Vampire Diaries.‖ Based on the bestselling book series by L.J. Smith, the series chronicles life in small town Mystic Falls, which happens to be inhabited by vampires, witches and werewolves. In 2010, ―The Vampire Diaries‖ won the People Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama and Canning, along with her other cast members, won the Cast of the Year award at the Young Hollywood Awards. Prior to starring on ―The Vampire Diaries,‖ Canning played the title role in feature film ―Black Field,‖ which premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival and won Best Feature at the Female Eye Film Festival 2010. She also guest starred on "Smallville" and "Kyle XY" and held leading roles in features such as "Paparazzi Princess: The Paris Hilton Story,‖ "Slap Shot 3" and the Hallmark Channel Original Movie, "Come Dance at My Wedding." A graduate of the Vancouver Film School‘s prestigious acting program, her breakthrough role came with the cable film "Taken in Broad Daylight." In the based-on-a-true story movie, she starred as Anne Sluti, a teen whose bravery and intelligence led the police to locate her captor after she was abducted from a shopping mall by a deranged killer, played by James Van Der Beek. Beyond performing, Canning's passions also include other aspects of entertainment. In 2008, she wrote and produced an independent film, which was developed as her student thesis project. Extracurricular activities include hot yoga, hiking, snowboarding, painting and reading. Canning was born in Newfoundland, Canada and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia, where "The Vampire Diaries" is filming. ### GREYSTON HOLT (Wyatt Earp) – Canadian actor Greyston Holt has made a name for himself in ―Durhum County,‖ ―Slap Shot 3‖ and ―Lost Boys: The Tribe.‖ Discovered by filmmaker David DeCoteau at a talent convention in Vancouver, Holt has gone on to build a career in film and television roles. He has trained with Ben Ratner and Andrew Mcllroy. Holt‘s talent has led him to lead roles in the Lifetime‘s ―Just a Girl,‖ HBO‘s ―Fakers,‖ the 2005 TV miniseries ―Into the West,‖ ―Sabbatical‖ Lifetime‘s ―Seven Deadly Sins,‖ as well as (more) HALLMARK MOVIE CHANNEL/ ‘HANNAH’S LAW’ – Cast Bios – Page 2 supporting and guest starring roles on ―Smallville,‖ ―Flash Gordon,‖ ―Stargate Universe,‖ SyFy Network‘s ―Sancutary‖ and Fox‘s ―Fringe.‖ In 2008, Holt was nominated for a Leo Award for Best Supporting Performance by a Male in a Dramatic Series for his role as Ray Jr. on HBO Canada‘s acclaimed series, ―Durham County,‖ about a homicide detective who discovers his neighbor and childhood nemesis may be a serial killer. Beyond acting, Holt is also a musician, playing guitar and singing in a rock/blues band. He enjoys writing and recording music with his band, as well as playing a variety of sports, including snowboarding, volleyball and soccer. Most recently, he can be seen in the Lifetime movie ―The Killing Game,‖ as well as guest starring on USA‘s ―Psych‖ and CTV‘s ―Flashpoint.‖ ### RYAN KENNEDY (Doc Holliday) – Ryan Kennedy was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and is the oldest of three brothers. His career aspirations leaned towards investigation and working for the FBI, but he began pursuing acting in 2004 after auditioning for a small role in a locally filmed movie. A lucrative career followed: Kennedy was awarded Best Supporting Actor at the Oklahoma Trail Dance Film Festival, and won Best Ensemble Cast at the Hollywood First Glance Film Festival for his dark and chilling performance in the gritty and disturbing movie ―Chasing The White Dragon.‖ Kennedy‘s most recent work includes a series regular role in the CW‘s ―Hellcats,‖ a series recurring guest role on SyFy‘s ―Caprica,‖ a guest spot on ABC‘s hit series ―V,‖ a recurring portrayal of DC Comics‘ leader of The Legion Of Superheroes Cosmic Boy on ―Smallville,‖ as well as guest star performances on CBS‘s ―Flashpoint,‖ NBC‘s ―Psych,‖ SyFy‘s ―Sanctuary‖ and the highly anticipated first season of ―Stargate: Universe.‖ Kennedy can also be seen in the feature thriller ―Hybrid.‖ ### DANNY GLOVER (Isom Dart) – Actor, producer and humanitarian Danny Glover has been a commanding presence on screen, stage and television for more than 25 years. As an actor, his film credits range from the blockbuster ―Lethal Weapon‖ franchise of movies to smaller independent features, some of which Glover also produced. In recent years he has starred in an array of motion pictures including the critically-acclaimed ―Dreamgirls‖ directed by Bill Condon and in the futuristic ―2012‖ for director Roland Emmerich. He also had roles in the comedy ―Death at a Funeral‖ for director Neil LaBute and in the moving drama ―Dear Alice‖ for Swedish director Othman Karim.
