The BhagavadGita spells out many ethical ideas. ļƒšAhimsa is another key principle of Hinduism; nonviolence. Buddha ļƒšGautama Buddha, from the foothills of the Himalayas, founded a new religion. ļƒšGautama born about 566 BC ļƒšHe saw for the first time in his protected environment, a sick person, an older person, and a dead person. ļƒšGautama left a happy married life to discover the realm of life ā€œwhere there is neither suffering or death.ā€ Buddhaā€¦ ļƒš He meditated and fasted. For 48 days he meditated in one place. He believed he understood the cure for suffering and sorrow; he was now Buddha. ļƒš The Four Noble Truths are the heart of Buddhism: 1. All life is full of suffering, pain and sorrow. 2. The cause of suffering is the desire for things that are really illusions, such as riches, power and long life. 3. The only cure for suffering is to overcome desire. 4. The way to overcome desire is to follow the Eightfold Path PENGUIN(@cLassics BUDDHIST SCRIPTURES ro. Those who cheat in business deals, those who act against the Dharma, Those who swindle, those who trick ~ not only harm _ their fellow-men, They hurl themselves into a gorge, for peopleā€™s deeds remain with them. - Whatever deeds a man may do, be they delightful, be they bad, They make a heritage for him; deeds do not vanish without trace. . A man will steal while profit seems to lie that way. Then others steal from him, and so the thief by thieving is undone. The fool, while sinning, thinks and hopes, ā€œThis never will catch up with meā€™.
