Homeroom Guidance Quarter 1- Module 1: The Superhero in ME RAZON, FRANKLIN Eleven P. mindorensis Let’s Try This Suggested Time Allotment: 15 Minutes Try to remember that last time you felt valued by others and the way you made others felt valued. Identify the incidents, your thoughts or ideas about the situations, your feelings and your behavior or action. Use the templates below to encapsulate those moments: The last time | felt valued Incident: The most recent scenario when | felt valued is when | was declared as one of the Best Six Projects of the National Science and Technology Fair. This has been a gateway for me to reprsent the Philippines at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair. Thoughts: Dating back to that moment, the thoughts running in my head was just the battles | have been through before | have been acknoledge abd shared with spotlight. The recognition also reminded me that life will really paid someone back fot their efforts and commitments through the right people as instruments at the most right time. Feelings: Reminiscing the emotions of me at that moment, exhilirating joy and great satisfaction really dominated my entire emotion. These also brought me to cloud nine for | felt like—this is the moment | am waiting for. This is an evident of how | am trully worth it on the endeavor | have chosen to venture into. Behavior: Similar to how | respond whenever great opportunities—being recognized and appreciated— come across my life, | always attempt to keep myself keen and calm. However, deep inside me, my emotions are bursting and wanted to errupt like how a volcano does. This is because | always focus first to gratify the persons behind it before | forget and be carried away by my rushing emotions. The last time | made others felt valued Incident: In my point of view, | will not specify an incident because | always try to send and express my appreciation to my parent as they deserve it at all times. It does not require for me to have some special occassions to appreciate. | always stand in my belief that our parents are one of the people who trully deserve to be appreciated, loved, and cared for in their life as to how they did these things to us—their children. Thoughts: In my life, | largely consider my parents to be more than just my guiding light, but my best friends—partners in my life— as well. Since childhood until the present, | feel and maintained a close connection to them which most teens don’t have with their parents and therefore makes me appreciate my relationship with my parents. My parents have always been there for me since | patter my feet and grown up. They have always provide me what is best for me and pick me up during certain situations. In my perspective, my life without my parents is a worst life ever that | woukd never wish for. The value of mynparents in my life can never be ignored. Hence, | always made them feel the greatest person this world could ever had. Feelings: At that moment, happiness and sense of fulfillment are the feeelings that run in my body. This is because | know | made my parent happy as well. Behavior: From that moment, | have no strange or special behaviour that | am doing. As normal as it is, this is because | aleays do it especially for the persons | loved and | truly value—like my parents. Processing Questions: 1. How did you find the activity? | find the activity as a mere reflection of what | have done in my past year of life. | found it the portal for me to have appreciate and value all of the persons who have helped in every single way to surpass all what | have been through—trials and stumbling blocks. 2. How do you feel about talking to yourself? Your friends? Teachers? Family? When | am talking to myself in the mirror, | feel so inspired for seeing that | have been great for fighting my dreams at the same time encourage to pursue these goals of mine more. When, | talk to my friends, my teachers, and my family, there are only two feelings that is within me — honored and blessed— because to have them along my life is great blessing for me sent from heaven. 3. What have you discovered about yourself during your self-talk? During myself talk, | have discovered changes in my own self. | noticed that through the years, | have been metamorphosed to a better and stronger version of myself—ready and equipped enought to surpass life's challenges. As well, | discoveted that there are so many things in life that | should be thankful for. These include my eversupportive friends, my trully caring teachers, my uplifting sister, and my greates guiding light— my parents. 4. How is the activity helping you enhance your self-worth? Through the activity, | started to completly understand my feelings and thoughts, At the same time, | learned how to appreciate persons and things in my life and kill all the insecurities | have from comparing my own life to other people's lives. You can do it Complete the sentences and write it on a one whole sheet of paper with the Self-affirmation Exercise. Compile it in your portfolio. Self-affirmation Exercise 1. My proudest moment was when | won at the National Science Technology Fair and proudly represent the Philippines at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair—these are all unexpected happenstances of my life. This was aside from my great happiness of being born on this beautiful world. 2. My strengths are our Almighty God and my family. 3. My source of joy is seeing my family safe, secured, and happy as well. 4. My friends really appreciate me as a companion who is always willing to lend a hand in times of need and a friend who is direct and not superficial. 5. | can overcome all the challenges in life because_lhave a firm Faith on God and His True Power. Also, | can overcome those challenges in life because | have my family and indestructible support system of people | have. | can overcome all the challenges in life because lam the one who run my life and not the challenges will run me and my life. 6. | will reach my dreams because | aspire to make all the efforts | have done and shared with me by all people in my life as worth it as possible. | do not want those help to go to trash and be wasted . What I have Learned Suggested Time Allotment: 5 minutes Think of our current crisis (Covid-19 Pandemic) situation. Recall a moment where you have done something that you felt confident and your sense of self-worth is high. What can you say to yourself in that situation? What have you done? Write your answers on a sheet of paper. The moment | will recall is the time when we saw a family of Mangyans walking across the road in front of our house. In that moment, | witnessed how pitiful these people are and no one is helping them. We rralized how dangerous it is for them to be outside without anything to protect them from a fatal virus which could easily inflict on them—most especially to their nine- month old child. This is why, my family offered them facemasks and some food to eat. At that moment, | can probably say that | and my family have just played our part and role as humans — to help other people in need. We felt so happy that we are able to lend a hand on other people and | do think that is must for us to do the same at all times when we see a person or persons in need.
