HUM5010 Self-Care Plan HUM5010: Overview of Human Services Individuals in the profession of Human Services need to make sure they know the warning signs for burnout within their colleagues. The visible signs of burnout are physical exhaustion, headaches, insomnia. Individuals with burnout could also have emotional symptoms such as depression, anger, irritability, difficulty with interactions, and disassociation. As helping professionals, we should not ignore the warning signs of burnout. If we ignore the signals, we are at risk for harmful behaviors. Our responsibility is professionally and ethically to make sure that our stress does not affect the clients (Sanabria, 2016). It is essential to make sure that we have a self-care plan that helps with our physical and emotional well being to help reduce the stress levels. In my personal self-care plan, I would like to make sure that there is enough time to take care of my physical and emotional responsibilities during my day. In addition to this making sure there are mental health breaks between myself and work. One way to do this is by singing to music that makes me happy on my way home from work. This provides me to transition from work life to home life. It is also essential to make sure that you are friends with a coworker that can help you identify. I remind you when you need to take a break (Sanabria, 2016). My self-care plan will also include scheduling time for eating as well as maintaining a healthy diet. By eating healthy and exercising regularly, it will help relieve stress within the muscles because the muscles' tension can cause burnout. It is also essential for Human Services professionals to avoid over-thinking about past situations they could have prevented. Doing this
