Historical and Cultural Influences Mexican cuisine is characterized by a harmonious combination of Indigenous, Spanish, and other European culinary traditions. Before Christopher Columbus arrived in the Americas, culinary traditions established a foundation for the region's cuisine, focusing on basic foods like corn, beans, and chilli peppers. Spanish colonization introduced new items like rice, wheat, and animals, further enhancing the culinary landscape (Mihesuah, 2020). Moreover, the incorporation of African, Caribbean, and Middle Eastern elements has played a significant role in shaping the distinctive taste profiles that are prevalent in contemporary Mexican gastronomy. Chilli powder, oregano, mint, cumin, and marjoram are common spices in Mexican cooking (Hayes, 2018). Religion Traditional Mexican wedding fare also has deep religious roots. A great deal of the diversity in local cuisine may be traced back to cultural-gastronomic lessons preached by Catholic missionaries (Romero et al., 2010). Since the vast majority of Mexicans adhere to the Roman Catholic faith, many of the country's wedding rituals have religious origins form of elaborate religious rituals, and the cuisine provided is meant to symbolize the solemn but joyous nature of 03:16:24 GMT -05:00 Main Course The first course often encompasses a diverse array of culinary offerings, including tortillas that are folded and filled with meat or cheese; and carne asada, denoting grilled beef. Rice, beans, and crisp salads make nice side dishes. Traditional Mexican tortillas are savoury pancakes prepared from maize or wheat flour that are tiny, flat, and circular (Pilcher, 2017). Proposed Mexican Wedding Dinner Menu for 150 Guests Cocktail Hour Guests will have a good time eating guacamole and tortilla chips. To kick off the festivities, mint margaritas (both blended and on the rocks; for instance, watermelon, cucumber-lime) and micheladas (for the soberer) will be provided. The ingredients for a traditional michelada in Mexico include beer, lime juice, and a variety of hot sauces and spices. 03:16:24 GMT -05:00 Figure 3: Illustrates a) Traditional Michelada Source (Sail, 2023) and; b) Mint Margarita (Theoktisto, 2021). Main Course For the main dinner entree, hot tacos will be served. Carnitas, carne asada, and nopales (for vegetarian visitors) will all be prepared fresh on-site and topped with a variety of delicious condiments.
