Fourth, to witness my friends be- ing tied up to someone they love. I think I will be the happiest friend if I witness that. Sixth, I want to build my dream house that is the product of my hard work. Seventh, to have a family whom I can call my own because it really feels different if someone is annoying you at morning, hearing their laugh all around and witnessing how happy and contented you are in your life. She also said that they may not know that after that bad thing there will be something good that will happen. She faces different challenges just like each youth today and that what makes her stronger now. Her name is Jessmyn Pollentes Villafuerte. 18 years of age from San Pablo City, Laguna. Her parent is Jessie and Ma. Eufemia Josefa Villafuerte. She is the youngest and the only daughter. At the age of 6 she moved to Laguna with her mother and 2 brothers because of family issues. She finished her elementary years in Del Remedio Elementary School and took up her junior high school years in the Uni- versity of the Philippines Rural High School In Bay, Laguna. In her senior high school year she pushes through the same school with a track called STEAM (science, technology, engineering, agriculture and mathematics), she is now on her last year in senior high school. She is planning to take civil engineering in college in the University of the Philippines. She likes cat a lot because they are cute for her and she likes to die but she doesn‘t want people dying. She loves to sleep and eat chocolates. In the near future her dream is to build tall buildings just like every engineer dreams. She is very close and fond of me. She treats me as her sister and never in both of our lives have got into a serious fight. Her optimistic view outside contradicts the darkness eating her inside. I know her too well that she shares everything to me, problems, rants and heartaches I know it all. We somehow feel the same, both of us is still hanging and keeping this optimistic view in our life. 9 In the middle of the vendors in broad daylight Mia: It‘s too hot in here [panting] but I need to buy the last thing on my list. Among the 3 of them, she is my favorite and I treat her as my best friend. Before she was born I am already there for her and willing to be with her until whenever. She really grew so fast. Before she loves to cuddle and play with me. But now, I can see that she acts like a lady now. I am glad that I got to see her like that but somehow sad. I know something happened between her and her parents. I feel sorry for her but I know that she can surpass that. I know how strong and stubborn she is at the same time. I saw her broke down. When I see her like that I am also crying inside. I want to ease the pain that she feels but the only thing that I can do is to hug her tightly and make her feel that I am here ready to listen to all her aches. She can‘t stand this family anymore. She became a total rebel now. I feel so lonely without her by my side. Sometimes I think that I don‘t have value for her. I‘m at ecstatic that she is right there in front of me. But that feeling got shattered into pieces. She just came back to get her other things then leaves the house again. I saw how devastated her mother is. I smell something pungent. I saw where I am. I am on verge of crying where i saw myself, in a trash can. I just wear a bitter smile on my face and I realize many things that even though how much time I spent with her since day one, there will always be a point on her life that she will let go of me. I also realize that I failed to make her happy. These are the places that I want to visit when I got some stable job in the future. I may not fulfill this wish but I want to fulfill half of it. These places are the best places that I got interested to and really catch my attention because of some reasons. The first one is South Korea, I want to visit this coun- try because first, I am a K-pop fan. Second, since they are being influ- enced by the Chinese based on their history I want to differentiate their culture to that of China. Third, because of how they treat other people even if they doesn‘t know them. Lastly, I want to go there be- cause I want to see the Namsan tower and to meet other people. Second is Iceland, I want to visit this country mainly because they don‘t have any mosquitos and some reptiles. I also want to experience their climate and to visit the what they call the blue la- goon (in the picture) where Iceland is very known for. Third is France, most of us really want to visit this country since it is the city of love and where Eiffel Tower is located. That ‗us‘ is where I belong, but with some additional reasons. I want to go there because I want to visit some high end fashion shows even though I am not really into fashion and also to learn how to speak French. Fourth is Switzerland, this country got my attention because of the movie ‗Meet Me in St. Gallen‘ where St. Gallen is lo- cated in Switzerland. I want to visit there when it is Christmas to feel the snow and the cold weather there. 13 42 Fifth is Germany, because of history that is why I want to visit this place especially because of the World War II. I want to see what situation they are in right now. Also, in the past years they got some notable scientists. I want to know on how they work in the field of science and how advance their technology is. Sixth is Japan, I want to visit this Asian country like our country because for me they stand out of all other countries. They got some unique style on how they treat their people. They also give importance to our environment even in the midst of the advancement of their technology. They also got some weird inventions that really benefit their people. Lastly, this might be lame but I want to taste all flavors of kitkat, because Japan has their own version of flavors I also want to learn their language. Seventh is Thailand, I want to visit this country be- cause I am curious on how they are trying to preserve the temples and on how religious they are. I also want to meet elephants who can in- teract with people and try to learn their language too. Eight is Batanes, because it is the farthest province here in the Philippines?, not really. I want to visit this place because of the stone houses and the light house that is located there. I also want to see how refreshing this place is and how rich their culture even if this place is really small and always the focus of the typhoon. Ninth is Palawan, it is known for the underground river which got listed to the UNESCO heritage site in 1999 and new seven wonders of the world in 2012, by just this recognitions it might really catch your attention. I want to visit Palawan because of how clear the water is and to be more adventurous and a risk taker. Last but not the least is Maldives, this country got my attention because of their beaches too and it is also a place for those who want some honeymoon trip. I also want to witness and visit the bioluminescent beach which I find unique at the same time weird. 14 9:30 pm watching some random movies where I can tell the whole story because it is one of my favorites. I took my phone and someone messaged me ―hi‖, I‘ve got nothing to do besides watch- ing so I replied, and that is how it started. 10:30 pm it‘s been an hour, it went smooth. He shared some of his thoughts about some stuffs and I also shared mine. There are so many things that that I noticed about him, he has a good sense of humor, a matured type of guy, loves basketball so much and what I like the most about him is he can play guitar and piano, at the same time he has a great voice. 11:30 pm I just got the weirdest fight of all. Why are we arguing about the color of his shirt? Is it green or blue? Gray or black? I don‘t even know but he insisted that it is dark green, though I am not really convinced because it really looks gray. 12:30 am we talk about music. He loves OPM and some classic songs. It‘s not he doesn‘t like the music today, he just pre- fer those kinds. 1:30 am he called to sing a song. That one song became more than 15 songs plus a self-composed song that is really good. I dis- cover how passionate he is for music. 2:02 am the call ended. He shifted the topic to his love for basketball. He is one of those people who is ―ball is life‖ but now he misses playing it because of his busy schedule as a graduating student. 2:51 am it is the end of everything. There is no assurance that tomorrow will also be like this but the things that happened in a short span of time will now be part of me and my eve- rything. I just hope that this person I am talking about will never get tired of making others understand him. 41 17 The biggest challenge that marks my life is when I was around 7 or 8 years old. My mother has an asthma and my father has a tuberculosis. I feel like I am the one who catches similar to their disease, related to our respiratory system. Since I am the eldest, at the same time I am somehow spoiled and all of needs are fulfilled. One day, I don‘t really remember the exact scene but I just remember that we go to a hospital for some check up and when the doctor is check- ing me up I notice that he writes so many things in his paper. After that scene we go to the pharmacy and I saw so many bottles of medi- cine and my parents told me that I have weak lungs so those bottles that I saw are all my medicine that I need to take everyday. I also re- member some scenes that I go to a hospital again for an x-ray. I expe- rience being expose to radiation 3 times because of 3 different x-rays for my lungs. I am not really aware what was happening that time. That time I also have 3 pediatricians who observe me for many reasons that I don‘t remember now. My childhood is not too lonely but just some parts of it. At first, I was prohibited to go outside and play because I can‘t be too sweaty because of my poor immune and respiratory system. That until now I am limiting myself. Lately, just last grade 10 they revealed that I have pneumonia. I don‘t know why they don‘t tell me at that moment. This challenge, I am still overcoming it by somehow limiting myself because this condition of mine in my health can be severe. To the point that my parents are afraid when I am sniffing be- cause of colds and cough. Until now, I am still weak to different dis- eases and my family is protecting me from it. 38 18 I am flying my kite up there in the sky And I am thinking That maybe even how high kite flies There will always be a time that, The one who hold the string will be tired Making the kite fall with nothing at all But a shattered pieces of its light body 37 University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) - Molino Campus at first I am just glancing at the front gate and to the logo of the school. I got to know this school because of my cousin who wants to spend her junior high school years in that school but unfortunately for some reasons she can‘t. Just like what I‘ve said in my previous writings, I just moved here because my aunt is the one who pays my expenses. She gave me a chance to choose a school. We, together with my cousins, explore different schools here in Bacoor and Imus who offers Senior High School. For some reasons I want to study here in UPHSD because first, it is near to our house and more conven- ient because I am just one ride away. My first impression in this school is the quality of their education will meet my standards and also I think that I should really do my best to get a passing grade. I expect that many life lessons will be obtained and treasured and the fees that we are paying are just enough to fulfill our needs in this university. My experiences in this university are extraordinary because I‘ve met my friends now and share beautiful moments with them that I will treasure forever. Even our frustrations in life are being shared. All the works that we need to do here (written works, quizzes and PT‘s) are enough to achieve the main objective of every lesson. Written works that are sometimes easy but there are times that they are hard. Quizzes that are more on identification and modification and sometimes even if the question is easy it is hard for me because I didn‘t study well for that subject. The performance tasks that even though some of them are really hard to do but our teachers appreciate every single effort that we do. Also there are some PTs that give us some experiences that even I, myself, do it. Some teachers give so much consideration especially for the deadliest deadlines of PTs. They sometimes pressure us but I think they do it unintentionally. 19 36 Blue thou art, intensely blue; Flower, whence came thy daz- zling hue? -James Montgomery 22 33 1.
