Autobiography Dr. Lewis EDTC 100 Jennifer Lynn Rich My name is Jennifer Lynn Rich. I am eighteen years of age and was born on Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho. I have on blood brother, Raymond, and one blood sister Laura. I live with my step mother and father. My stepmother had two girls from her previous marriage, Molly and Jennifer. My mother remarried and my new stepfather had two sons and a daughter from a previous marriage, Christopher, Garret and Keriann. The reason I have chosen elementary education is because I love being with children and teaching them new things. My parents divorced when I was three years old. My father, younger brother, older sister and I moved down to Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana. While we were there, my dad meet my stepmother. They married and told us we were moving to DeRidder. None of my siblings knew what or where DeRidder was. I grew up in DeRidder and graduated from Deridder High School in May 2007. During high school, I was very involved and enjoyed every bit of it. I was in band all four years and lead the color guard three out of those four as captain. I was also in Student Government Association for all four years. I also was in Beta club for both my junior and senior year. I was honored to accept a position on both the Homecoming and Valentine Courts. I was also in the Year book for “Who’s Who”. It is for students who are involved in a lot of organizations, and each organization has a certain amount of points. The students with the most points have their picture and all the organizations listed in the year book. Autobiography Dr. Lewis EDTC 100 I have traveled all around the United States. My family takes a family trip every year to a new place. Seeing some of the wonderful sights in this beautiful country is definitely a privilege. I have been to Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Kansas and Oklahoma. I volunteered at a children’s place in DeRidder called BeauCARE for about four to five years. There was tutoring and homework help for students. I, being with children for those couple of years, made me realize that God wanted me to be a teacher. The environment was great to work, teach, and also learn from student’s ages five to thirteen. Volunteering there was one of the best experiences I have ever had with children. I am in the process of earning my Pharmacy Technician License. I worked at LeRay’s Drug Store for a year in DeRidder. When I moved here, I got a job at Gordon’s Drug Store where I am currently working with a pharmacist to receive my license. I have my permit, but once I learn most of the pharmaceutical knowledge, I will take a test to see if I qualify for my license. My short term goals are to finish college and receive my Pharmacy Technician License. College is one thing that a lot of my family did not accomplish. Knowing how proud my parents and family would be is one of the biggest motivations I have to succeed. My lifelong goal would be to accomplish my dream of being a teacher. I feel that God has called me to teach young children. I love being around kids and teaching them new things just to see the expression on
