Download Russia's Actions and Appraisal in Ukrainian Conflict: Social-Semantic Analysis and more Schemes and Mind Maps Ethics in PDF only on Docsity! From this article, we found a few social-semantic approach (SSD) activation such as: - The Russian leader's initial aim was to overrun Ukraine and depose its government… - Vladimir Putin unleashed the biggest war in Europe since World War Two with the justification that modern, Western-leaning Ukraine was a constant threat and Russia could not feel "safe, develop and exist" From this example we can see that Russia was written as an actor in this article that cause few actions such as overrun, depose, unleashed the biggest war, oppression and annexed that occurred on Ukraine. There is no genericization in this article because the writer did specify all of the entities. And lastly, an appraisement also has been found in this article. A negative Appraisement has been used as we can see, the writer who sided with Ukraine, wanted to bring out the negative value towards Russia as they started the war. The words that has been bold in the examples such as seized, criminal offence, annexe, invade and lay waste to were used . - More than a third of this area was already seized by Russian proxy forces in a war that began in 2014, now Russia wants to conquer all of it. - Russia's leader refused to call it an invasion or a war, and made doing so a criminal offence. - If he does capture both eastern regions, there is a high chance he may seek to annexe them, as he did with Crimea in 2014. - As he prepared to invade in February, he tore up an unfulfilled 2015 Minsk peace deal and accused Nato of threatening "our historic future as a nation" - Having witnessed Mr. Putin’s willingness to lay waste to European cities to achieve his aims, Western leaders are now under no illusions. That’s all from us thank you
