German grammar summary 1.Nouns (Substantive):  German nouns have grammatical gender (masculine, feminine, neuter).  The gender often determines the definite article (der, die, das) and the indefinite article (ein, eine). 2. Articles (Artikel):  Definite articles: der, die, das (the).  Indefinite articles: ein, eine (a/an). 3. Adjectives (Adjektive):  Adjectives change their endings based on the gender, case, and whether they come before a definite or indefinite article. 4. Pronouns (Pronomen):  Personal pronouns: ich, du, er/sie/es, wir, ihr, sie/Sie.  Reflexive pronouns: mich, dich, sich, uns, euch, sich. 5. Verbs (Verben):  German verbs are conjugated based on the subject, tense, and mood.  Regular verbs follow predictable conjugation patterns, while irregular verbs have unique conjugations. 6. Sentence Structure (Satzbau):  German follows a Subject-Verb-Object (SVO) word order in main clauses.  Subordinate clauses often have a different word order. 7. Cases (Fälle):  German has four cases: Nominative, Accusative, Dative, and Genitive.  The case of a noun or pronoun depends on its function in the sentence. 8. Prepositions (Präpositionen):  Prepositions are used with specific cases, influencing the noun's or pronoun's case.  Common prepositions include auf (on), in (in), über (over), unter (under), etc. 9. Conjunctions (Konjunktionen):  Coordinating conjunctions (und, oder, aber) connect similar elements.
