The first group will be named “US”, the second group will be named “UK”, and the third group will be named “Aussie.” The teacher will provide 5, 000 Korean won for the most cooperative group, and 2,500 Korean won as a consolation prize. ACTIVITY (60 minutes) “Video Watching” The teacher will let the students watch a video from YouTube and they should take down notes. This part will take about 20 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66aG5P0kQpU&t=453s “Guess the Picture Game” After watching the video, the teacher will show pictures to the students and each group should answer what word that picture is according to its country (group). Why are they referring to British-English as old English? 2. Why are they referring to American-English as simplified English? 3. Which of these variations of English are you familiar with and easier to apply? “Comedy Skits/Role Playing” The teacher will inform the students that they will be presenting a comedy skit. The teacher will give each group a certain situation and a list of words found on the video. The preparation will take about 10 minutes, while the role plays or the skits will only take 5 minutes each group.
