Page 1 of 4 Lowe’s Order Management Screens Menu Options “OMGR” or “1.12.12” With the release of EDI (electronic ordering), we have removed the need for store employees to call in orders to the vendor for any orders that are sent via EDI. The question we sometimes get is “How can I tell if I need to call in the order”? There are a few ways to tell this: 1. Checking the Order Status from the Order Management Screen • When customers pay for SOS orders, the system decides if the order should be EDI. If it is EDI, the status of the order will be set immediately to “ORDERED”. However if it is a manual SOS order, it will be set to “SOLD”. • Therefore, you can look at the status of the order to determine whether or not it should be called in or faxed in. • “ORDERED” - status means it is either EDI or has already been ordered manually. • “SOLD” - status means this order needs to be manually called in. • If you want to be sure they should be manually ordering the product, you can have them look in their order management details screen to find this out. • Have them look at the “CURRENT STATUS” field on the screen. It is located on the left side of the screen, under the vendor name and above the “ORDER COMMENTS” field. In the order below, the order status is “SOLD”. • If, however, the status of the order is “ORDERED”, you should tell them that they do not need to be calling in the order. But if they still insist that the order needs to be manually called in, you can look at the Order History screen. omz110a ORDER MANAGEMENT DETAILS 02/01/02 09:43:37 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CUST #/ NAME: MIKE LYLES CUSTOMER PHONE: (336)658-4000 PO NUMBER: 12345 SALESMAN: BILL COWHER SOLD DATE: 01/31/02 ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE: 02/14/02 VENDOR: LARSON COMPANY VENDOR PHONE: (800)111-2222 CURRENT STATUS: SOLD ORDER COMMENTS : SEL ITEM # DESCRIPTION MODEL# BIN QTY EXT PRICE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 89391 36" BAYBREEZE GREEN BAYBREEZE 1 194.00 PURCHASE ORDER PRICE: 194.00 F1:HELP F2:CALC F3:REVERSE F4:HISTORY F5:COMMENTS F6:DELV INST F7:UP F8:DOWN F9:FLAG AS ORDERED F10:WHAT'S THIS? Page 2 of 4 Checking Order History from the Order Management Screen • Checking the status is the quickest and easiest way to determine if the order should be manually called in / faxed in, but if there is still a question, you can look at the order history in Order Management to determine if it was sent via EDI. • To check history, from the order management details screen, the employee can press the “F4” key. This will bring up the order history screen. Below is an example of an order detail screen for an order that is in ORDERED status. omz110a ORDER MANAGEMENT DETAILS 02/01/02 10:31:27 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CUST #/ NAME: MIKE LYLES CUSTOMER PHONE: (336)838-7353 PO NUMBER: 52453 SALESMAN: TERRY BRADSHAW ORDERED DATE: 02/01/02 ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE: 02/06/02 VENDOR: WHIRLPOOL VENDOR PHONE: (888)995-6937 CURRENT STATUS: ORDERED LAST COMMENT : SEL ITEM # DESCRIPTION MODEL# BIN QTY EXT PRICE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 169475 27" B/I COMBO OVEN GMC275PDS 1 2641.06 PURCHASE ORDER PRICE: 2641.06 F1:HELP F2:CALC F3:REVERSE F4:HISTORY F5:COMMENTS F6:DELV INST F7:UP F8:DOWN F9:CHANGE DEL DATE F10:WHAT'S THIS? F12:CANCEL PRESS F9 TO CHANGE ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE • In this screen, you can see that the status of the order is “ORDERED”. From this screen, you could press F4 and see the history of the order.
